First time for Pep Guardiola’s Blues who had already won the first leg 2-1
Manchester City is the first finalist of this Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s team beat Neymar’s PSG 2-0 in the second leg after a 2-1 win in Paris, and fly to the final for the first time, where they will face the winner of the match between Real Madrid and Chelsea.
The protagonist of the evening was the French naturalized Algerian Riyad Mahrez, author of the double that extends Pochettino’s formation. City in the first half goes on with minimal effort. Guardiola’s men pass at the first opportunity with a precise diagonal from Mahrez on 11, after PSG had almost taken the lead on more than one occasion. The best chances in the 17 ‘on a header by Marquinhos, which ended on the top of the crossbar, and on the 20’ with a left-footed shot from the edge of Di Maria, after a defensive error, which touched the post.
In the second half City more careful and dangerous in the restarts. Guardiola’s team is now masters of the field and in the 77th minute it touches the trio: Foden enters the area on the left and kicks diagonally but the ball hits the post to the left of Navas.
