BRUSSELS, MAY 03 – The EU has summoned the Russian ambassador to Brussels after the sanctions by Moscow that hit 8 top European leaders, including the president of the Parliament David Sassoli. The Russian Ambassador will be received in the afternoon by the Secretary General of the European Commission and the Secretary General of the European External Action Service. The meeting will announce the strong condemnation of the sanctions against Sassoli, the vice president of the European executive, Vera Jurova, and the other European leaders. This was announced by the spokesman of the European External Action Service, Peter Stano. As regards the response to sanctions, a discussion is underway on a coordinated response between Member States. The issue will be discussed on Monday at the Foreign Council of the European Union.
