Epic was faced in a controversy, not only with Apple, but with Google, as its popular title Fortnite It was removed from both the App Store and Play Store respectively.
Why was Fortnite removed from mobile stores?
This was because the purchase of PaVos, the internal currency of Fortnite, violated various internal sales policies at both Apple and Google stores. The proceeds went directly to Epic, without giving any kind of royalties to the aforementioned companies, this was not to the liking of Apple or Google at all and they decided to remove the game indefinitely from their platforms and stores.
Epic alleges that these measures incite monopoly, as Apple wants to keep most of the profits that exist in in-game purchases thanks to microtransactions. However, Apple declares that this is against its internal policies, and that if the game is going to be free in its store, they should receive some type of economic royalty, and in this case it would be in-game purchases.
What do you think? Do you also hope that the conflict will be resolved and Fortnite go back to mobile devices? Let us know in the comments.
