Chelsea have continued to show improved performance under the direction of Thomas Tuchel, so far they are still unbeaten and are in fifth place in the Premier League standings. In European competition, the London club has also stepped one foot in the last eight after defeating Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the first leg.
The sector that has shown a significant development in performance is the defense, after being coached by Tuchel, Edouard Mendy has only conceded two goals, namely against Sheffield United (Antonio Rudiger’s own goal) and during a 1-1 draw vs Southampton.
One of the most successful players back to starting XI is Andreas Christensen, in the plot to replace Thiago Silva who is currently injured, the Danish player appeared solid and managed to repay the coach’s trust. He also felt comfortable playing under Tuchel’s direction.
“Just like the current squad condition, I also feel better. It has been a long time since I played in a row. Previously I was in and out of the team for a long time. So, of course now I enjoy it,” said Christensen as reported by the London Football.
“Yes, I have not performed as well as before, but it will be achieved a little more. Every day, I feel more comfortable. I also always look forward to training sessions and matches. I am really enjoying it now,” he added.
Andreas Christensen will still be Thomas Tuchel’s first choice when Chelsea are faced with a crucial match against the defending champions, Liverpool in the matchday 27th Premier League match, Friday (5/3) early morning Western Indonesian Time.
