Memories of the past, good luck charms, there are many and different reasons linked to the choices by the drivers of the number stamped on their livery in the next F.1 World Championship. Let’s start with reigning champion Lewis Hamilton, who would have the right to wear the 1, but prefers to continue with his 44. He wore 22 in 2008, when he took his first title at the end of the Interlagos GP in Brazil. Then he doubled it. As he said in an interview “this is the number I used to wear on my kart when I was 8 years old. Same as what was stamped on the license plate of my father’s car, the F44, and I want to keep winning with that number ”.
