It could of course be a dead end, but Stellantis sent out a press release today showing that Lancia is not dead after all. The brand group communicated the organizational structure after the merger and Lancia will play a role in this that is somewhat clearer.
There is a subdivision in which the American brands are bundled and a ‘Global SUV’ category for Jeep. It is striking that Chrysler only one ‘interimCEO gets with Tim Kuniskis, who will also head up Dodge.
There is also one where Citroën and Fiat / Abarth are referred to as ‘core’ brands. The higher mainstream segments are reserved for Opel / Vauxhall and Peugeot, the latter of which Linda Jackson will be CEO. Premium are the brands Alfa Romeo, DS and therefore Lancia. Maserati is positioned entirely as a ‘luxury brand’.
