The alarm went off at nine in the evening. And to notice the fire at the Amazon Prime Now depot, in the Bovisasca area, northern outskirts of Milan, were the volunteers of Intersos, ambulance rescuers, who have a headquarters just behind the warehouse.
“We were about to disconnect when we heard a bang,” says one of them. “With a colleague, I went to the balcony. A cloud of smoke rose from the shed. ” It was they who called 112 and were the first to arrive at the facility. Inside there were 26 workers from different cooperatives who worked in the portion of the company that overlooks Via Nicolodi. They hadn’t heard the explosion and hadn’t noticed anything. With thermal blankets they were rescued by rescuers: none of them were injured. But inside everyone had to abandon coats, backpacks and personal effects, while the flames blazed – say the firefighters – ten meters high.

A dozen fire brigade vehicles intervened to put out the fire, the causes of which are not yet known. With them an ambulance of 118 and the police, who immediately began to hear the witnesses. Extensive damage even if the structure does not appear damaged on the outside.
