The continued growth in sales of the DS range and the successful launch of DS 3 CROSSBACK, the global result in 2020 sees growth, recording an increase in volumes of 5.6% compared to 2019, with 4,723 units in total, and an increase of the share on the premium market which goes from 1.33% recorded last year to 2% in 2020, with a premium market that records a result of -31% compared to 2019. With these figures, the DS brand is confirmed as the only growing premium multi-energy brand in the market.
These commercial results were also achieved thanks to the great work done on the quality perceived by the customer, both in the sales phase and in the post-sales phase, with results above the set target: 95.3% (+0.3 points compared to to 2019) of fully satisfied customers in the sales phase and 92.7% in the post-sales phase (+ 1.3 points compared to 2019).
The commercial results of 2020 represent a big step forward in the affirmation of the brand in Italy, thanks to DS 7 CROSSBACK, which with 2,722 registrations represents 58% of total sales.
A great contribution to the global result also came from the success DS 3 CROSSBACK, the High-Tech Style icon of the DS brand, which with more than 2,000 registrations recorded a growth of 47% compared to last year, a very important figure. in consideration of the market contraction this year.
These results project DS Automobiles as a protagonist in 2021, thanks also to the energy transition strategy, which has seen the models of the E-TENSE range assert itself with a leading role. Electric and Plug-In Hybrid models represent 18% of the brand’s total sales in Italy.
2021 will see the DS brand continue the development of its model range, with the arrival of two fundamental models, which will allow it to enter new segments and further improve its market share.
In the first half of this year the DS 9 E-TENSE will arrive, a sedan with a statutory character, the highest expression of Parisian luxury in the automotive world, and the DS 4, arriving in the second half of the year, which will usher in a new era. in the stylistic evolution of DS models and will preview the most innovative technologies available on the market today.
