Cuernavaca, Mor.- One Piper PA28 type light aircraft, matrícula XB-CFP, property of the Vitar Aeronautical aviation school, this afternoon collapsed behind the hill “El Jumil” of the municipality of Miacatlán, located in the south of the state; the two crew members are reported out of danger and with only minor injuries.
Paramedics treated Gustavo Olmos Arias, 25 years old, and Ricardo Romero García, 59 years old, at the scene of the events.

The State Security Commission reported that the aircraft took off from the “Mariano Matamoros” airport in Temixco, to carry out a local IFR flight and when approaching runway 03 an emergency was reported, presumably derived from a mechanical failure and, later, the accident was recorded, and it was estimated that the plane went down 3 miles south of the international airport, so the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFC) activated the corresponding search protocols.
The plane was located by a Escuela México aircraft at the following coordinates 18 43 06 N, 99 17 25.02 W, behind the aforementioned hill.
Unofficially, it is known that the accident was apparently caused by a mechanical failure.

In November 2019, another plane owned by an aviation school fell in the Aeropuerto neighborhood, a border area with the municipalities of Xochitepec and Temixco. In that accident, the pilot and his co-pilot lost their lives, informed authorities of the State Coordination of Civil Protection Morelos (CEPCM).
The plane was conducting a practice flight aboard the Cesna 167 plane with registration XB-JVN. In a press release, Civil Protection reported that at 08:48 it received a report of an air accident near the airport.
