In the first of the two recoveries the Bolognese fly with the triples of the former NBA, Teodosic and Markovic. On the Trieste-Treviso field
VIRTUS BOLOGNA-PESARO 100-80
Virtus breaks the taboo Segafredo Arena, where they had lost the last five games, and overwhelms Pesaro by scoring 100 points and also hitting the new company record of triple scored in the league with 18 (out of 33). A success that bears the signature of the golden couple Teodosic-Belinelli (35 points and 9 assists in two in 42 total minutes on the field), directed by a sumptuous Markovic (15 with 9 assists and 7 rebounds), and opens the doors of the Final Eight of the Italian Cup to the Bolognese.
It is immediately a Serbian show starting with Markovic’s triple and Teodosic’s eight instant points to launch Virtus at 16-8. However, the distractions of the Bolognese defense soon put Pesaro back in the game, with the unleashed Tambone placing nine consecutive points for overtaking (18-20). Segafredo, despite Belinelli’s good impact from the bench, swerves too far back against Robinson, nullifying the very high offensive percentages. Djordjevic then lowers and with the four little ones the hosts change gears: Markovic, Belinelli and Weems hit from the arc (10/17 at half-time) and in the middle of the race Virtus stretches to 52-44. The hands inevitably cool down and with the only goal of Delfino (1/7) after 23 ‘Pesaro has a start (56-52) before raising the white flag. Teodosic takes the stage again, scores 9 points in the third quarter and then passes the baton to Belinelli who goes into double figures with the triple of 75-57. A shoulder from which Vuelle does not get up, because Ricci – sixth man in double figures – also gets to hammer from the arc with three triples in the last quarter (95-70 maximum advantage) up to the final “centello”.
power: Teodosic 19, Belinelli 16, Markovic 15.
Pesaro: Robinson 15, Drell 14, Cain and Tambone 13.
