There can be a remarkable similarity between luxury cars and high-end audio products: both are often made using sophisticated materials, they can have a very particular design, they can convey emotions. Both, however, also perform the same function as cheaper products but often do so with benefits that are sometimes not easy to quantify. As for the prices, finally, for both, they can be very high.
It could be precisely for these similarities that the news of Bugatti who wants to enter the premium audio product market it’s not that surprising. The French car manufacturer collaborated with the German company Tidal to create Royale, “the Bugatti of home audio”. For information, Royale is also the name of the luxury car made by Bugatti from 1929 to 1933 in just six units.
In this case we are talking about a pair of floorstanding loudspeakers with four woofers, a three-way driver and a tweeter with a diamond diaphragm. They are active speakers, i.e. each with its own integrated amplification, and each weighs 160kg. Both connect to a controller for connecting the various sources.
As conceivable, it is an exclusive product that will be made in just 30 pairs in two special editions: Edition Noir and Edition Blanc. The price has not yet been communicated. Later versions can be fully customizable with unlimited combinations.
On the automobile side, we recall, Bugatti is developing Bolide, a new hypercar created for the track.
