A man died after a helicopter crashed around 7 pm in the Vila Histórica de Mambucaba region, in Angra dos Reis, on the Costa Verde, in Rio. The information was confirmed to the Twitter by the Fire Department of Angra dos Reis. Eurico Azevedo, pilot of the aircraft, was found in a river near the crash at 8:43 pm.
Three teams from the Fire Brigade are on site attending the incident and conducting searches. There is still no information on the causes of the accident.
According to the Civil Defense of Paraty, the helicopter for private use tried to land on the golf course of Hotel de Bosque, a hotel considered to be of a high standard, but failed. The propeller hit the transmission line and left the city of Paraty – as well as part of Angra dos Reis – in the dark.
According to the Federal Highway Police, part of the wiring fell on Rio-Santos, at km 531. The road had to be closed in both directions. The PRF reported that traffic is flowing along the shoulder.

Friends mourn pilot’s death
A friend of Eurico talked to Twitter. Raphael Barros had known the pilot for 20 years and said he can’t believe his death.

Through social networks, other acquaintances also mourned Eurico’s death.

According to the Fire Department, the helicopter was serving an air taxi and only the pilot was on board. Eurico was heading towards Hotel Estrada do Bosque, where he would pick up a guest.
President visits Angra
This Friday, President Jair Bolsonaro went to Angra dos Reis, where he visited the home of Walderice da Conceição, Wal do Açaí, investigated on suspicion of being a ghost worker in his former office in the Chamber of Deputies. Then he went to his summer house, in the Historic Village of Mambucaba.
